Desert Storm Elite Class Descriptions

Beginner tumbling: For a student who has no experience in tumbling and needs to develop basic skills. Examples: Handstand, back bend kick over, front walk over, and introduction to a back handspring.

Storm Flip Flop shop: For the cheerleader who has mastered the beginning tumbling skills required, and is close to achieving a back handspring with a light assisted spot. A standing back handspring and a round off back handspring will also be taught.

Intermediate Tumbling: For a student has a round off back handspring and a standing back handspring without an assisted spot. In this class they work towards multiple back handsprings and are learning the proper technique for a back tuck.

Advanced Tumbling: For someone who has a back handspring back tuck without an assisted spot and is learning how to do a standing back tuck. Back handspring layouts are introduced at this level, and if a student has mastered the layout they will be introduced to a back handspring full (a layout with a twisting rotation).

Twist Class (Invitation Only): For someone who is working on a back handspring full with an assisted spot and is consistent through the process. The main focus will be on students who already possess the back handspring full and are working toward the double full and other transitions from a full or double full. Enrollment is very limited for this class.

Recreation Cheer: For a student who has an interest in learning the basic principles of competitive cheerleading, but does not have the experience. Techniques taught are basic motion skills, jump skills and beginner/intermediate stunt skills. New cheers and chants are taught as well as fun and funky dances with custom-made music. Introduction to various tumbling skills will also be taught in this class!

High School/Middle School Cheer: For a school team who wants that competitive edge. The team will learn new skills: Mastering team jumps with the inverted look and the unison needed for competition; beginning to the most advanced tumbling; safe and proper stunting technique, taking a single twist to a clean double twist in group stunts, reloads, tic-tocks, and many more transitional stunts, pyramid building, and team building.
